Need Tiny Car Wars Miniatures? Check The CARnage Kickstarter Today!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Dec 05, 2022 at 09:59:00 PM

Our second Pocket Box Kickstarter campaign is not yet ready, but everything is getting closer to complete and we'll launch that just as soon as we can manage. News to come!

While we wait for the new Pocket Box project, we would like to direct your attention to the new CARnage project. This STL project brings Car Wars miniatures and bits to your 3d resin printer. The cars are scaled for the new Car Wars Sixth Edition game, but there's nothing stopping you from printing them at a smaller size . . . and using them with the classic Car Wars game!

Check the pics, and then visit the Kickstarter campaign before the project ends on Wednesday.

Pocket Box Update, Car Wars Bundles at Warehouse 23, and FnordCon
about 2 years ago – Wed, Jan 26, 2022 at 12:19:44 AM

Three quick bits of Pocket Box news today.

  • The upcoming Pocket Box campaign is not yet ready to go, but we've almost prepared everything we need including the list of titles that may see a reprint depending on the success of the next Pocket Box project. We posted info to our company blog, the Daily Illuminator, if you wish to learn more.
  • We've (finally!) released the Car Wars Pocket Box bundles for sale at our online store, Warehouse 23. What took us so long? The warehouse team has been a tad buried under work and we didn't want to add too much more to their workload.
  • Our in-person convention, FnordCon, is scheduled for April 29 to May 1, 2022, and pre-registration is now open! We hope to see you at the show, where we'll be ready to play games, talk about games, and show off some of our plans for the second half of the year.

We do not yet have a launch date for the new Pocket Box project, but we'll be sure to post an update here just as soon as we're 100% ready to go with the next wave of Pocket Box games.

Info on the New Pocket Box Project and Final Days for Illuminati Confirmed
almost 3 years ago – Sun, May 23, 2021 at 03:16:25 AM

We've spent the last year preparing the files and now, thanks to the work of our team and our partners at GPI, we're at the stage we can start constructing the new Pocket Box Kickstarter campaign. This upcoming project features seven black plastic Pocket Box titles and one new ziplock expansion, and everything is now officially tooling at the factory.

Why are we already in the tooling stage if we've not yet run the new Kickstarter campaign? Taking a lesson from this original Pocket Box project, we're going to finalize all of the work necessary up to the "manufacture the entire run!" stage so that we eliminate some of the steps that caused delays in delivering the first Pocket Box project. By completing the tooling first, we can both have games to photograph for the Kickstarter page and shave 30 to 45 days off of the entire manufacturing process.

Once we have the tooling samples in our hands, we will share photos and have more details on the expected launch date of the project.

What are the second wave games? Check out this image!

Illuminati Confirmed Now on Kickstarter

Entering the final days on Kickstarter, the Illuminati Confirmed video game is your chance to play the  Illuminati game in the digital realm. Illuminati Confirmed will be a brand-new version of Illuminati: a video game, produced by key creators of 1994’s award-winning Illuminati: New World Order. It uses that version of the game as its starting point, under license from Steve Jackson Games.

Illuminati Confirmed is slated for release through Steam, Google Play, and Apple app stores. Check out the Kickstarter page today before the campaign comes to a close!

Illuminati 2020 and Illuminati Confirmed
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 30, 2021 at 02:15:40 AM

We are now ready to announce a follow-on to your Pocket Box Classic Illuminati games. Last year we released Illuminati 2020, a chronicle of that really bad year, written by Steve Jackson. Now we’ve adapted it to the Classic card size and ruleset. So if you prefer to play with the old version . . . now you are covered. The Classic version is every bit as angry, accurate, and depressing as its first incarnation. You will probably like playing with this set, but you’ll definitely remember it.

In one of those “coincidences” that cannot be explained by students of the Illuminated Ones, this set is illustrated by Matías Solario, who also “happens” to be art director for RadioFree.Net, which “just happens” to have launched a Kickstarter today for Illuminati Confirmed, a digital version of Illuminati.

RadioFree.Net is Derek Pearcy’s new game studio. Illuminati fans will remember Derek as a big part of the energy behind INWO when we released it last century. Derek has continued to gain experience and level up among the Secret Masters, and he’s coming out of the gate strong.

This time, they’re leaning into the game’s history as well as its tabletop background. Conspire across the ages with three game modes: Classic Illuminati (1980s), Illuminati: New World Order (1990s) and Illuminati Confirmed (NOW). It’s still an adaptation, though their plans are now much closer to the original gameplay, making it easier to take over the world without sacrificing much complexity.

Plus, they took advantage of the time between then and now to make progress on the game itself—expect a playable mini-version available to some backers within weeks of the Kickstarter’s end!

They plan to ship before the end of the year, for PC and mobile, available from the usual suspects.
